sail into oblivion's frequently asked questions

Do you have a life outside of VAST?

No, not really.

Are you obsessed with VAST or something?

Shhh. Don't say that too loudly. I've already discussed this with the FBI.

What do you do for a living?

I'm a student. I also work part-time in an office, where my job is to punch lots of numbers into a computer and make some pretty visual design stuff.

How do you know so much about VAST?

I go through their garbage and tap their phones. ;) Actually, I just read lots of interviews.

Are you a groupie?

Have you ever heard of a groupie maintaining a website about the band that she (physically) loves?

Why did you call this site "Sail Into Oblivion"?

Well, since "Blue" is one of my favorite VAST songs, and most of the fans seem to have a contest going to see who can pick out the most obscure VAST line ever and name their site after it, I decided to call my site "Sail Into Oblivion." Unfortunately, after I had set up the site and made the site email and everything, I realized the line said "Let's slip into oblivion." Lesson from this, boys and girls: don't count on the fact that you understand everything Jon Crosby is singing.

Who's eye is that on your front page?

I'll give you three guesses, but you can probably get it in one.

How long did it take you to make this site?

About a week, each second of which I enjoyed way too much.

What did you use to make the site?

I used Fireworks 2 for the banners and Dreamweaver 3 to make the frameset. I purposely designed this site the way it is because I hate long downloads and I wanted to make it as easy as possible to update. I wrote all the HTML myself. The photos I used in the banners on top of each section are from the guys at Electric Womb.
