touched

touched

you say that i am too

so much of what you say is true

i'll never find someone quite like you again

i'll never find someone quite like you

like you

the razors and the dying roses

plead i don't leave you alone

the demigods and hungry ghosts

and god

god knows i'm not at home

i'll never find someone quite like you again

i'll never find someone quite like you again

i looked into your eyes and saw

a world that does not exist

i looked into your eyes and saw

a world i wish i was in

i'll never find someone quite as touched as you

i'll never love someone quite the way that i loved you

Touched is the first song I really heard by VAST. I loved it because it fit a situation beautifully. An ex-girlfriend (now just a friend) introduced me to VAST and this song interested me. I listened to it and it applied almost perfectly to the way I felt about her the exact moment she played it for me... I will never find someone like her again. I think that sounds a little sappy, but it holds a great deal of truth.

She was different from anything I ever been around or felt. And I treated her so well, but I felt like I was slightly unappreciated. I never let that on. In fact, I never realized it until after our relationship was ended (by her). She has an alluring air about her that I succumb to without ever even realizing. She's quite a unique person.

At any rate, I never have told her about the song's relation to her, but it does show up often when we are together. Not just on the stereo either. I mean casual references to it in conversation, or a line from it that fits a moment. They're unintentional on both of our parts, but I wonder if she notices it like I do. With this in mind I bought her a record flat signed by Jon Crosby for her birthday. I made a matte for the frame I put it in and wrote the lyrics to 'Touched' on it in a spiral. She said it looked nice and I got a great hug for it, but I still don't think she got it. I don't know if I wanted her to. When a song can identify with a situation this much, it makes me jealous that I didn't write it myself...
